CRAFTSMANSHIP
For over 35 years, we have been hand making hiking sticks and walking canes one at a time. This process lets us select and handcraft a quality hiking stick that will be your loyal companion for years to come. Over the years we have tried different styles and types of wood and have fine tuned the line to our best performing wood types and styles. We finish our Hiking Sticks with a nice coat of lacquer and then tip it with a high quality rubber tip. To put the final touch onto the Hiking Stick, we add a quality leather string near the grip area, that can function as a wrist strap. On the Leather string, we put a descriptive hang tag stating the wood type and model of hiking stick along with a leather Whistle Creek Logo.
Our most popular wood is Hickory, it is known for its strength and durability. Our Sassafras wood is still plenty strong but is a lighter wood. Our Root Canes are Sumac and Hawthorne. The Root Cane handle is actually its main root that we craft into the handle for a unique one piece cane for strength and character. Our Survival Kit in a Sardine Can contains 25 items that can help you in a survival situation in a neat sealed Sardine Can! This kit goes great in a glove box or backpack as it takes up very little space. They also make great gifts!
